VA Benefits for Elderly Veterans
The Department of Veteran Affairs offers many programs and benefits for elderly Veterans. Often, Veterans are unaware of the benefits they are eligible for and could be missing out on substantial monetary benefits earned through their service.
The Department of Veteran Affairs offers additional monetary benefits to elderly Veterans who are eligible for or already receiving the VA Pension benefit.
Aid and Attendance (A&A)
The VA offers an increased monetary benefit for Veterans who may:
- Require help performing daily functions of living like bathing, dressing, or eating,
- Be bedridden or a patient in a nursing home,
- Have limited or no eyesight.
Housebound Veterans
The VA offers an increased monetary benefit for Veterans who, because of a permanent disability, are substantially confined to their immediate premises.
